Russo, Ph.D.
Quantitative Research Director
Gerard Russo is leading the team at the University of
Hawai`i to develop a body of quantitative research that provides
a socio-demographic profile of the uninsured, experimental
studies on health insurance as an employer-sponsored benefit,
and examining policy implications of various coverage expansion
scenarios. Recognized as one of Hawaii's leading health economists,
Gerard Russo specializes in health policy, microeconomic
theory, as well as insurance and health care financing. Dr.
Russo serves as an associate professor of the Department
of Economics at the University of Hawai`i and is adjunct
fellow of the East-West Center. Dr. Russo was awarded a Ph.D.
degree in economics from Northwestern University, an M.A.
degree in economics from the University of Delaware and a
B.A degree in economics from the George Washington University.
