Hawai'i Uninsured Project

Target Areas for Expanding Coverage

Most states are grappling with the issue of a growing uninsured population. Forty-four million Americans lack health coverage at any given time – more than the population in Massachusetts, Texas and Florida combined.

In Hawaii, the number totals more than 120,000 (about 10 percent of the state’s population).
