About Us
The 2005 Legislature
created the Hawaii Health Care Task Force pursuant to
HB1304, CD1.
The bill, which became law on July 13, 2005 as Act 223, SLH 2005,
establishes a temporary task force to develop a plan to implement
health care for all Hawaii residents.
The Task Force consists of thirteen members appointed by the Governor from recommendations by the
Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the
Insurance Commissioner. The Hawai`i
Uninsured Project serves as the facilitator for the Task Force.
The Task Force will operate until
June 30, 2006. A final report will be submitted to the 2007
Legislature.
